CauseGPT is made by Renovait LLC, and "we" means Renovait LLC throughout this policy. It explains what the CauseGPT iOS app does with your information, written against what the app actually does.
There is no sign in and no account. Your chats are saved only on your phone. To answer you, your messages and photos are sent through our server to Anthropic (for chat and web search), and image descriptions and voice replies to Google (for image creation and reading replies aloud). We run no ads, no third-party analytics and no tracking, and we never sell your information.
None of this is uploaded to us. Deleting the app, or using Settings > Delete all my data, erases it.
When you send a message, or attach a photo to one, it is sent to our server together with the recent messages and photos in that conversation, and passed to Anthropic, which runs the Claude model that writes the reply. Our server does not store your messages or photos; it passes them on and streams the reply back. Photos you attach are shrunk and saved inside the app on your phone. A short title for each chat is written the same way.
When you turn on Search the web, Anthropic runs the search for us. Your question, or search terms based on it, are sent to Anthropic's search provider. The pages it finds are listed under the answer.
When you create an image, your description is sent to our server and passed to Google (the Gemini API) to draw it. Our server does not store the description or the image; the image is sent back to your phone and saved there.
How these providers handle it. Anthropic and Google act as our service providers. Under their commercial API terms they process what we send only to produce the reply or image, and they do not use it to train their models. They may keep it for a limited time to monitor for abuse and safety. Do not send passwords, financial details or other sensitive personal information in a chat.
The app asks for your permission before any of this is sent, the first time you use it.
When you use voice mode, Apple's speech recognition on your iPhone turns what you say into text; Apple may process that audio under its own privacy policy. The text is then handled like any chat message. To read replies aloud, the reply text is sent to Google (the Gemini API), which returns audio. We do not record or store your voice.
If you report a reply or image, we receive the reason you chose and the reported text or image description, so we can review it. It is not linked to you.
CauseGPT asks for microphone and speech recognition access only when you open voice mode, for camera access only when you choose Take photo, and opens your photo library only when you choose Choose photo; it reads just the photo you pick. It asks to add photos to your library only when you tap Save to Photos on an image you created.
Purchases are made through Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active, using an anonymous identifier. We never see your card details or your Apple ID password.
We give 10% of subscription revenue to the causes our subscribers pick (see How we give). The donation is made by Renovait LLC, not by you, so it is not tax-deductible for you. Your cause choice stays on your phone; we only use totals to decide how much goes to each cause.
CauseGPT is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
You can delete everything stored by the app at any time with Settings > Delete all my data, or by deleting the app. Because we do not keep your chats on our servers, there is nothing else to delete. If you have a question or request about your information, email zachstricker55@gmail.com.
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
